True whether the interventions were done during reception or during processing. Even if the interventions during the processing are blatant and obviously negate the verisimilitude of the image they do not pose a problem because without respect for verisimilitude there is no photograph. But if there is the necessary respect for verisimilitude Where the truth is an inviolable and selfevident element as in the courts or in journalism the photograph necessarily needs the accompanying oral or written written testimony. In itself it is not a carrier and even less a proof of truth. Digital technology which in its presence has done much to us improve verisimilitude better equip ourselves to shape.

Project our own truth and overturn in the common consciousness e-commerce photo editing the belief that the photo is irrefutable proof of the truth which was never the case anyway. Releasing photography from the burden of objective truth makes it more capable of projecting subjective truth which is the goal of all art. What is probably implied by those who use the term Documentary Photography is the documentary style. That is the photographer's use of all those weapons at his disposal to imitate the flow of real life. To make his photography something similar to the cinematic narrative of Italian neorealism to which I referred above. But we must not forget that style in art is nothing more than another weapon in every artist's quiver to transcend reality even when he pretends to reproduce it.

In conclusion the difficulty for all those who move around photography does not lie in the classification of photographs in simplistic or arbitrary categories but in understanding the peculiarities of each particular photographer. And the challenge for any particular photographer is how to turn his very name into a special category. Because the only document that exists is the presence of each creator. Otherwise the photograph serves with greater emphasis to testify to someone else's truth. Either a coroner or a journalist. By rereading my old texts I try to find the coherent line that defines my timeless personal views. Personal opinions acquire over time something of the monolithic of memories.
